Sales Operations Specialist

The successful candidate individual will be responsible for supervising all aspects of advertising operations for Dotspotter, the fastest growing pop-culture website. Our Sales Operations Manager will supervise the advertising sales and trafficking workflow, campaign proposals, campaign implementation, reporting, and billing. To apply, you should have experience in the online advertising operation field and in the technologies used to support online advertising operations, including ad serving, third-party ad tags, audience measurement tools, HTML, Flash, and web (google) analytics. This is a highly visible and exciting position which interacts with many other functions of the organization including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance. The right candidate will be extremely organized, highly analytical, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently to develop and implement processes to establish a world-class Advertising and Sales Operations team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and the ability to scale a team as the organization grows. The position is based in Berkeley, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, manage and monitor all aspects of online advertising campaigns.
• Develop and implement inventory management, reporting and forecasting processes and tools.
• Assist Sales and Advertisers/Agencies with pre-launch preparation activities.
• Generate and analyze reports to monitor campaign performance, communicating and troubleshooting operational issues with internal and external parties when necessary.
• Assisting sales management with revenue pipeline and inventory management through salesforce.com.
• Optimize campaigns to ensure full delivery and maximize performance.
• Create, maintain and present regular (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) campaign status and metric reports as well as develop ad-hoc reports to support strategic planning and fact based analysis.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience directing online advertising operations
• Experience managing workflow and OpenAds or related AdServing technology
• Prior experience with Saleforce.com
• Quantitative analysis skills a must
• Ability to work under tight deadlines

Java Engineer

So far we have assembled a very talented team, and are looking for one more great Java programmer to help us design and code key application and platform features for our public launch in early 2007. Having done this a few times now, we believe that our passion for building great software, and our relentless pursuit of excellence sets us apart from others. • Strong Java skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries and design patterns

Software QA Engineer

We're looking for talented software QA engineers to join our team and help us create the most advanced social media platform. Dotspotter QA Engineers will search for, investigate, report, and track defects. Ideal candidates should have a passion for testing and the ability to work independently on diverse problems. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also a must.

Requirements:

• Testing and Automation experience
• Experience with open source test automation tools
• Deep knowledge of internet technologies
• Experience testing web-based UI implementation, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX

Field Sales Executive

Dotspotter is looking for a sales driven individual with a proven track record in online and/or traditional media sales. We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and building a loyal client base. Candidate must be results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to creating new business opportunities. This Media Sales Professional is expected to understand the overall business objectives at Dotspotter and be able to articulate the Dotspotter value proposition to the advertising community.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain an account list of advertisers
• Manage and grow an account base exceeding $4 million dollars in annualized recognized revenue
• Build rapport and strategize with senior level executives at client companies to demonstrate how Dotspotter can meet their marketing needs
• Develop and cultivate deep relationships at all levels from CEO/CMO to Brand Managers to Media Buyers
• Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
• Hit target revenue quota
• Pitch new business to advertising agencies and direct clients
• Proactively provide smart client research and industry specific informati
• Update and create sales proposals.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in online advertising sales
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a fast paced start-up environment
• Media buying, brand management, promotions and sponsorships a plus
• Existing relationships with agencies and corporate buyers (Rolodex)
• Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships
• Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery (at a 6-figure level)

Inside Sales Executive

Dotspotter is looking for a high-energy Inside Sales Representative to drive new business growth. Located in our Berkeley Offices, this role will primarily be responsible for the prospecting and cold calling into advertisers and Advertising Agencies for the purpose of creating brand awareness and obtaining meetings with decision makers. The ideal candidate will have tremendous enthusiasm for creating new business opportunities, should have 2-5 years experience in lead generation or cold-call sales in an online or digital media environment; and must be proactive and able to work independently.

This Media Sales Professional is expected to understand the overall business objectives of the Dotspotter sales organization, and then articulate the Dotspotter value proposition to the advertising community.

Responsibilities:

• Add to the positive energy at our corporate offices
• Proactively identify and qualify potential advertisers through prospecting and cold calling with the end result being a set appointment for a Field Sales Rep
• Follow up on inbound sales leads and referrals
• Partner with media sales reps to schedule appointments within an assigned vertical
• Develop market intelligence on assigned verticals and specific accounts through the use of various tools including current news articles, Hoovers, Corporate Financial Statements etc.
• Achieve daily/weekly/monthly productivity goals as defined by management
• Assist in the creation of sales proposals.

Qualifications:

Marketing Director

This individual will participate as a key member of the team working directly with senior management. The primary role of this job will be to provide the sales organization with the market insight and tools necessary to exceed the company's revenue targets. The position will be required to drive insight and develop strategy in the areas of corporate branding, direct marketing, product definition, positioning, competitive intelligence and online advertising market dynamics.

Responsibilities:

• Lead corporate branding and messaging analysis
• Initiate and execute market intelligence projects to assess and develop direct marketing programs and company position relative to those needs
• Work with sales to develop and articulate the product concepts, usage patterns, pricing models and value statements
• Identify and size potential market opportunities to better meet and deliver against future customer needs
• Drive and define marketing strategy, programs and promotions to raise awareness of product and program solutions

Basic Requirements:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative thinker who can drive our lifestyle content strategy and execution plan.

The position includes performing a wide range of editorial duties including writing, copy-editing, and integrating user generated content for final posting, publication, or product release. Evidence of depth of commitment to writing and editing, a wide degree of creativity, and a positive attitude is a must.

Candidate should have knowledge of procedures, process, and best practices of specific the online lifestyle market. Candidate should be able to multi-task a range of editorial duties within a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. All candidates should be conversant in the lifestyle market and be highly motivated self-starters. Candidate should have a demonstrated ability to create and edit content and documents in a range of voices and styles. Experience in web content or new product development, journalism, and magazine publishing is a plus.
