Courtney Love was born Courtney Michelle Harrison on July 9, 1964, in San Francisco California. She spent her childhood with her mother in Oregon, then proceeded to travel around the United States, England, and Ireland at age 15. It was during her stay in England that she met musician Julian Cope, after that becoming a regular at rock shows. She eventually landed up back in Portland, Oregon but her love of music had already ignited and she spent her years their pursuing this interest. Her first rock musician boyfriend was Rozz Rezabek, and briefly became the lead singer of band 'Faith No More'. After being kicked out of numerous bands, she had a brief stint in acting.
In 1989, Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson confounded their own band, 'Hole', Love's longest running band. Two years later, Love met Kurt Cobain at a club in Portland and the two were married on February 24, 1992. They had a baby girl together that year, but after two short years Cobain's body was found in his Seattle home. His death is officially recorded as a suicide, but Love is disliked by some Nirvana fans because of conspiracy theories that Love hired someone to kill Cobain.
Love was release from a mandatory 6 month drug rehabilitation program in 2005 and began work on her newest CD shortly afterwards. She has also produced a memoir book, Dirty Blonde.
