Kate Beckinsale

Kathryn Bailey Beckinsale was born on July 26, 1973 in London, England. Both of Beckinsale’s parents were actors in England, her mother Judy Loe on stage and television and her father Richard Beckinsale was a well know television actor until his premature death at the age of 31.  Beckinsale attended a private school and excelled in writing, thereby gaining admittance to the prestigious Oxford University.  During her first year at university she was offered a part in “Much Ado About Nothing” adapted from Shakespeare’s work. Her first major film in America was “Brokedown Palace” with Claire Daines, but her first American hit was the 2001 film “Pearl Harbor.” Beckinsale played a vampire in the movies “Underworld” and the sequel “Underworld: Evolution,” both directed by her current husband Len Wiseman. She has a daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, with long-time love Michael Sheen. Beckinsale has most recently been seen in the summer comedy “Click,” as the romantic lead, opposite Adam Sandler. She has several films in the works, including “Snow Angels” and “Vacancy.”
