Katie Holmes is an actress who grew up in a close-knit catholic family in Toledo.  She was involved in theater at her all-girls high school and stared as Lola in the musical “Damn Yankees”.  Her role in this high school production prevented her from auditioning for “Dawson’s Creek,” but the producers wanted her for the role and they accepted a taped audition and then later rescheduled her callback.

Katie Holmes had her first big hit as Josephine “Joey” Potter on the popular TV series “Dawson’s Creek.”  Her success on the big screen followed with “Wonder Boys,” “Pieces of April,” “First Daughter” and her biggest hit thus far, “Batman Begins.” Holmes was named #22 on the Maxim magazine “Hot 100” list in 2005. Her much publicized relationship with actor Tom Cruise has been tabloid fodder from their first public date on April 29, 2005 at the David di Donatello Awards (the Italian equivalent of the Oscars).  Holmes and Cruise began a whirlwind romance with an engagement on June 17 atop Paris’ Eiffel Tower. The pair announced shortly thereafter that a baby was on the way and Daughter Suri was born on April 18, 2006. They then had a grand wedding ceremony on November 18, 2006 at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano Italy in front of family and friends.  Many other celebrities attended the wedding including Will and Jada Smith, Brooke Shields, Chris Henchy, Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, John Travolta, Kelly Preston and more.
