Vanessa Anne Hudgens was born on December 14, 1988. She has been home-schooled since after her seventh-grade year at the Orange County High School of the Arts. Her parents are Greg Hudgens and Gina Guangco. She has been singing in musical theater for local productions since she was eight, but made her first Hollywood appearance in 2003, playing Noel in Thirteen. SInce then she's appeared in another movie, Thunderbirds, and achieved fame in her role as Gabriela Montez in High School Musical 1 and 2. Her television roles include commercials and shows like the Quintuplets, Cover Me, Still Standing, Drake and Josh, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Her debut album, V, was released in September 2006 and she expressed interest in a second album, reportedly about the negative side of Hollywood, in an issue of TV Guide magazine. In August 2007 at the Teen Choice Awards, she was named Female Choice Breakout Singer. Her fame ever-building, she became a spokesperson for Neutrogena in 2007. Recent controversy in Vanessa's life includes the nude photos that surfaced in early September, reportedly taken privately (Maybe for co-star and boyfriend Zac Efron?). These photos however will not affect her contract with Disney; she is signed in a contract for High School Musical 3 and just finished filming High School Musical 2.
