“The View” is a chatty show where women empower themselves with The Truth. “Entourage” is a manly-man comedy about dudes who man-up on and off the set in Hollywood. So it makes perfect sense that testosterone “Entourage” filmed a scene on the set of estrogen “The View” Monday at Caesars Palace.
First up, the ladies interviewed cast members for the “View's” real, live broadcast. That was Jerry “Turtle” Ferrara, Kevin “Drama” Dillon and Debi “Shauna” Mazar.
Dillon chatted about his real life wedding. He got hitched in Las Vegas, and Ferrara served as best man.
“Kevin [Eric] Connolly walked her down the aisle,” Dillon said.
There was an Elvis at the chapel, too, that old story, it’s cute but whatever.
Then after the real “View” wrapped, everybody got their makeup did, and Dillon came back to film the fake “Entourage” version of “The View,” playing Drama as the lead actor in the fictional show-within-a-show, “Five Towns.”
Here is where you stop reading if you don’t want to find out a spoiler about the plot development:
As a head’s up, a production person for “Entourage” told the crowd of mostly older women that Drama would appear on “The View” along with costars of the fake “Five Towns,” and Drama would be heartbroken and tender, boo hoo.
“He’s basically gonna crumble before you,” the production guy said.
At this point, I watched younger women explaining to older women that “Entourage” is an HBO comedy about dude friends and the relationships they get entangled in.
“Oh,” one newly informed woman said. “So it’s ‘Sex & the City’ with guys.”
Yeah, kinda.
Another woman looked at Dillon and asked her friend if he was related to Matt Dillon (yes), because he looked a lot like him.
Annnd action!
Drama told Whoopie and pals he was the muscle on “Five Towns.” A “cast mate” from “Five Towns” then ridiculed him there on the fake “View” for getting dumped. Drama claimed he wasn’t dumped. Then Drama admitted he had been dumped. Goldberg convinced Drama he should say something to the ex-girlfriend right there on “The View.”
“Hey baby,” Drama said. “I just want to say [plot point, plot point, plot point]. Tweet.”
“Tweet?” Goldberg said, and added the “f” word.
Then Drama ran off stage. Annnnd scene.
Goldberg said she uttered the “f” word since this was for HBO and not the curse-free zone of “The View.” Everyone in the crowd must have heard her say it, and the world did not end, and they were richer for having seen the making of a show within a show within a show, or people said.
FROM THE VIEW WEBSITE:
