When Matt Lauer interviewed Denise Richards on the "Today" show and asked her questions about her split with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, did he cross the line? On this Sunday's finale of E!'s reality show, "Denise Richards: It's Complicated," Denise is shown breaking down in tears, after the interview in which Matt asked questions about a reported email she allegedly sent to Charlie's now-wife asking to use his sperm to have another child.

 

But according to an NBC insider, "Denise was happy with her 'Today' show interview. She even took the time to thank Matt Lauer for a wonderful interview and for giving her a platform to speak before she left the studio."

Meanwhile, the official word from NBC is: "Denise's 'Today' show interview was noteworthy and compelling, and she is always welcome back at 'Today.'"

  • I think that everyone should just stop asking her about Charlie and let them move past the divorce and focus on the kids. Her and Charlie are finished and that is were it should end now. Ask her if she dating, the girls, the show, but it needs to be left alone now this divorce is messy enough already.

  • She is a BITCH, she gets everything she deserves, she was the one who started it, saying Charlie molested the children, abused her, hired hookers etc. and now she's complaining when he tries to defend herself. I have no respect for her whatsoever, she runs her mouth every chance she gets to say nasty things about Charlie and then she goes and has a relationship with her best friend's ex-husband and she wants sympathy. Someone should call out this bitch for what she is.

  • Denise is morning the lost of her mom and a marriage and a family, so she might not be emotionally on top right now, but you do not kick a dog when its down. For goodness sakes, the girl just needs some time and a little love. But, is that asking to much this time and date of our lives?? Denise, put your girls and yourself first, and to heck with the rest of the cruel world. God Bless

  • She's done this to herself! I'm not saying Charlie was the best husband - I have no idea - but she's out there on a reality show of her life - that's what you get when you want the world to know all about you. If she was really trying to move on - she wouldn't have her own reality show.

  • richards is a total attention whore, user and loser. She is a talentless hack with purchased breasts and face. Lauer was spot on, it is newsworthy. richards is a pathological liar, fact. What a complete loser. She is being paid neaarly $100K a month in child support and received over $10 Million in lump sum settlement. She should drink drano and save us all from her.

  • she seems to seek out the media and when invited they will swarm and pick you apart. not to mention keeping her divorce and custody battle in the headlines.i do not like her for seemingly trying to keep her kids away from their father, too many kids grow up without one how could you do that to them. boo hoo poor denise

  • To some people, yes he did cross the line. Yet, there are others who either think that Denise Richards diserved it or they are other journalists, that think that Matt Laurer did the right thing in order to entertain troubled people that get a kick out of others misery. That's all that matters to the media, that they get a "juicy story" and get more people to watch their network. Personaly i don't think that Matt crosssed the line or that he did.I'm just not surprised that someone of the media would go so far into their sources just to humiliate someone for their own pleasure.

  • How dare Matt do this to Denise Richards! That's a man for ya! Hasn't she been through enough! A divorce, a loser husband, and her ex making a nasty comment about Denise's mom who had cancer. I'm sure her mom gave up the fight for her life after that comment. I should know my ex did the same thing and my mom passed. Who do "these" egotistical guys think they are? They will have to meet with their maker later and I hope they like hot weather!

  • No, I don't think Matt Lauer crossed the line. This was no different than many many other interviews on any show; the only reason it is being questioned now is because of Denise's dramatic reaction on her reality show - which appears to be for the sole purpose of ratings and publicity, and to play the victim.

  • I do not think Mr. Lauer crossed the line he asked a question, and she handled it very well in the interview. It was not until her reality show that she is tied to make this pay off for her. So no he did not but I think she did by making it such a big deal. I have never watched her show, I do not care for these type of reality shows. From what I understand she spoke about it on Larry King too.

  • If she's so over it, and wants to move on.. why does she have to keep mentioning his name on her show, also having her tattoo removed on the air! Its obvious she's jealous of his new wife and its eating her up... She's a drama queen and a liar.. Why does she say she needs to change her image, yet lie on the beach topless, slide down a stripper pole and swear like a truck driver.... she''s a hasbeen and knows it!!

  • Denise Richards is in need of counseling. Charlie has moved on with his new marriage, but Denise cannot seem to pull it together. She complains that Charlie is playing dirty, yet she goes on Larry King and denies the sperm rumor. The e-mail exposed by Lauer bit her back. Yes, Denise -- It's complicated.....

  • Definately not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I am so tired of seeing her on tv or on magazines. Whatever happened to seeing real actresses on publications? Not one whose only ability to keep in the Hollywood's spotlight is by using an ex-husband of years back to promote a current tv show. She needs to actually learn what being a good mom is really about and also let go of the past -- she knows her kids are going to have access to her show when they are older. Does she really want her own children to see her as a basket case -- it is all so wrong.

  • Who cares? I feel bad for the kids. We'll end up seeing them in rehab, or 6 feet under from drug overdose, or pregnant in 9 years. Both parents should be ashamed of themselves. Denise is a horrible mom, and Charlie an amoral, spoiled Hollywood brat. These are the type of people Hollywood breeds and their kids aren't safe from it either.

  • Matt went way to far, to ask questions that Denise has no control over, this poor woman is raising two children alone and the loss of her mother, when your mother is sick with cancer that is all you concentrate on everyday for several months until they pass away, I know this for I have been thru this and a single mom of 2 kids, it makes me sick they way Denise has been treated, leave this woman alone and let her live her life and raise her kids!!
