What do you think of McCain comparing Obama to Celebrities?

I Like It I Don't Like It
Barack Obama shoots back today at John McCain in a new TV ad called "Low Road." The spot calls McCain out on what the Obama campaign describes as "false attacks and failed policies" after the Republican candidate compared his opponent's so-called celebrity status to such Hollywood tabloid targets as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. What do you think about McCain comparing Obama to Britney and Paris? Speak out -- and your comments may end up on "The Insider" on TV tonight!

Obama was diplomatic yesterday when he put the kibosh on McCain's ad, telling MSNBC, "I don't pay attention to what McCain says." When asked about the ad, Obama said, "although I do notice that he doesn't seem to have anything very positive to say about himself, does he?"

  • McCain did go after Obama. However Obama shot back about his shoes? Why didn't Obama DENY it? Is it true? Both shots are very childish in my opinion.

    • I missed the shoes comment. Was that something about McCain's $500 loafers? I read that somewhere, but I think it came from the press, not the Obama campaign.
  • Who runs an ad complaining about how popular the other guy is? I hear the next ad will say he's too tall and good-looking...see more

  • I hope that both presidential candidates, if elected as the next president, will be able to lead United States. Whoever is elected will have alot of work to do as the next
President of the United States. Good luck to both of the candidates.

  • It seems very childish of McCain to do, but he does have a point about the experience factor.

  • Everything Obama does is off limits for critique.
Did McCain not get the memo?

Obama has a full 144 days of experience
in Congress, yet he may be President, thanks to the fawning
    mainstream media.

Obama can not make a good (prewritten by others)
speech with out a teleprompter in his ear.

If you critique Obama, you are branded a racist.

Obama's "America Is Bad" speech in Germany
was beyond annoying, and the way he mangled
the history of how the Berlin Wall came down
    was a joke.

I'm not crazy about McCain, but Obama
    is far worse.

  • Many say Obama is inexperienced...maybeee however
he is intelligent enough to get it figured out quickly. Bush wasn't experienced and not intelligent enough to know it. Thanks Dick.

      the brainpower of Bush.

  • Has anyone noticed that too many celebs seem to be having twins???? This cannot be coincidence and seems to be the new hollywood "thing" to do. I believe if anyone looked closely and paid attention that it seems that these older stars are taking something and then doing selective reduction. It is just too familiar that everyone is having twins or announcing they are having twins....

  • I think that it is a proper analogy. I see no childish sense to it. Politicians have to do what they have to do.

  • I think it is ridiculous and hypocritical when McCain's daughter was recently on TMZ with her buddy Heidi Montag. He even accepted campaign money from the Hilton's and then trash their daughter. McCain's daughter Meghan seems to very friendly with celebrity and McCain should be ashamed. This is an unnecessary low blow and shows how desperately he is afraid of Obama. Let's argue politics not made up gossip. McCain needs to get his own house in order and see the fact that his comments about the HIlls and his daughters best buddy Heidi make him look like a desperate hypocrite. Heather

  • I care about our awful economy. The war in Iraq. The poor soldiers who need to come home and quit fighting "the rich man's war". It just goes to show where McCain's head is. He proves this over and over again with his views on the war. We do not need another George W

  • I think McCain is just jealous. Barack Obama gets more publisity which upsets him. Its not his fault, he shouldn't compare him to two celebritys. JEALOUSY McCain get over it people like Obama.

  • I think this is very low and wrong.
Why would someone compare Barrack Obama to such people as Paris and Britney!
Yes Obama has publicity but McCain doesn't so why does he have to be jelous!
In my opinon John McCain is the next George Bush. Barrack Obama is the next President of the United States Of America!

  • McCain is too old to behave like a pudgy jealous toddler. His actions are so typical of how politics is played. It is time for a change. Thanks Barack for being the man you've been from the beginning. KEEP YOUR EYES, HEART, AND INTELLECT ON THE PRIZE-PRESIDENT OF THE US

  • Wikiipedia definition of celbrity is
A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention. ISN'T THAT WHAT HE IS. I think he is where he is because of celebrity support. Mcain calls it like it is.
He has no experience behind him, yet he's the ceeleb choice.

  • McCain's comment is completely off track because Former President Ronald Reagan was a movie star and Former President George Busch senior had experience and that did not get us too far with our economics
    anonymous anonymous 7/31/08 Reply

  • that makes no sense BritParis not saying they are not smart but he is on a much higher level than those two and they are on a higher level than McCain and Busch combined
