Why was Toby Maguire picked to be Spiderman?

Even though Topher Grace and James Franco aren't drop dead gorgeous, they both look a lot better than Toby Maguire. They also seem like they could beat Kirsten Dunst in an arm wrestling match. Toby probably would need some help.

I think you need glasses!! James Franco is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! He is one of the nicest looking guys I have ever seen. I would love to see him in person!
