Apparently, Tyra Banks and Russell Simmons had lunch at the restaurant but each thought the other was going to pay the bill and so both left the diner without paying. The New York Daily News picked up on the story and reported it the next morning.
To give Tyra credit she was extremely shocked and apologetic upon learning of the misunderstanding and both apologized on the TV show "The View" and went back to the restaurant immediately after taping to pay her tab. She also showed her apologies by giving the waiter a $100 tip.
Looks like the waiter got a nice hug out of it too. Not bad for a day's work.
