It looks like our prediction machine was out of whack last week – we could have sworn we’d be looking at Melinda in tonight’s Idol finals. While she’s got loads of talent, a matchup between her and Jordin would have made for a bland Idol ending. And, while we’re pretty sure Blake doesn’t stand a chance as the big winner, we wonder how he even got this far.As for Melinda, she’s got a bright future, and getting booted from Idol isn’t the worst that could happen. We’re pretty sure she won’t go the way of past Idol rejects and whither into obscurity, wind up a reality TV reject, or get in trouble with the law. Of course, you never know.
Looks like Simon Cowell is staying mum on the prediction topic as well – now that his fave Melinda is gone, he said the finals are between a “brilliant entertainer” and a “great singer.” What a cop out.
