In the 1980s, Mick Jagger was trying to prepare for a movie part in the film Fitzcarraldo, about a rich entrepreneur who went to great lengths to get rubber from the Peruvian jungle, in a bizarre bid to build an opera house. Jagger was set to play Fitzcarraldo’s assistant, a role he ultimately had to turn down due to touring commitments coupled with filming delays.
