Cameron Diaz’s Inca Faux Pas

Cameron Diaz inadvertently caused a mini-controversy during her trip to Peru by toting a bag emblazoned with a Chinese Communist slogan. Unbeknownst to Cameron, the slogan was popular with a Maoist-inspired insurgency during the recent past, which resulted in the death of over 70,000 Peru citizens. Oops.

Diaz, 34, was visiting the Inca city of Machu Picchu, a popular tourist site high in the Andes, wearing a green bag printed with a red star and the words “Serve the people”

  • Yea like anyone here wouldn't make the same cultural faux pas. We wear Che Guerro shirts all the time w/out even knowing who the guy is. Most people think Anarchism means living in chaos. Diaz is just a reflection of our ignorant culture.
