GA’s Spinoff, Private Practice, Has a Cast Shakeup

The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, Private Practice, has already had a shakeup in its cast. The friend of Addison that was played by Merrin Dungey (of King of Queens fame) has been replaced by Audra McDonald (photo above), who is a four time Tony award winner. Executives felt that some of the actors did not “pop” with viewers. Private Practice is scheduled to start production next month, and no other cast changes have been made.
