Dear Mr Schwarzenegger,
We know you from a cinema and television screen. We admire your numerous film creations. We would like to congratulate you on the position of the Gouvernor of California.
We are modest family living in Pabianice, in the centre of Poland. A nurse and a mechanic – these are our professions. We have got two children, Agata and Przemek. My daughter, who knows English, has translated this letter for us.
In 1997 we had a chance to spend two weeks in the USA. It was a first prize in a competition organized by ‘Golden American’ company, awarded us for the best slogan. In a very fast pace, we visited and admired New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles ans San Francisco. It was a trip of our lives. We treated it as our a little bit delayed honey moon trip. The places we visited supriced us with attractions. Sunny San Francisco made the biggest impression on us. It is a city on the hills, a pearl of California.
As you are the Gouvernor oh that region, we are addressing this letter to your hands. After the trip we have been let with photographs and nice memories. We dream about a similar trip, this time together with our children. It would be a chance to see and explore California mainly, for longer than three days and not only from a tourist’s perspective. For many years the USA was not available to Polish people because of a political situation. Now, it is still just a dream taking the distance and costs into consideration. The chance like the already mentioned prize happens unfortunately once in a life time. Poland is situated quite close to Austria but far from the USA.
Do we have a chance to make our dream about California come true and to meet you as our best strongman and champion Marisz Pudzianowsi have? The more plck, the more luck and that is why we have ventured to write this letter to you.
We are sending lots of greetings and some recent photos of us as well as those taken during our won trip in 1997. We really hope to hear from you and thank you in advance.
