The alleged stalker, Rev. David Ajemian, 46, was arrested at he tried to enter a filming session of Late Night with Conan O'Brien at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York City.
Over the past 14 months, Conan received disturbing letters, postcards and e-mails allegedly sent by David (image), who signed the notes "Padre." According to reports, David also contacted Conan's parents.
Police say that the priest was asked dozens of times to stop contacting Conan, but failed to do so; he now faces charges of aggravated harassment and stalking.
In one note sent to Conan, the sender complains of being barred from attending one of the show's tapings.
"I'm told by some of those officious little usher people that you’re overbooked. Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans? You owe me big-time pal. I want a public confession before I ever consider giving you absolution—or [I want] a spot on your couch," Ajemian apparently wrote.
It's possible that the two men might have known each other back in their student days; they attended Harvard University during the same time frame (1979-1985), back in the 1980s.
David was a reverend at St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham, Massachusetts from 2005 to May 2007. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison.
Just so strange!
