And the Grammy Goes To…

I Like It I Don't Like It

If you’re like us, you really don’t care all that much about who actually wins at awards shows.  The most interesting thing about these annual self-congratulatory events is who is wearing what, saying what, and showing up with whom.  And this weekend’s Grammy’s did not disappoint.

The stars were out Sunday night, some dressed their best, some looking like they just wandered in off the street.  John Mayer may or may not have admitted something about his relationship with Jessica Simpson, but he said it in Japanese so we’re not quite sure.

Now for the real awards, brought to you by Dotspotter.

The awards for Best Dressed Grammy Attendees go to:

Scarlett Johansson, looking smoking in a little black dress, soft blond waves, and impeccable skin.  Carrie Underwood, a class act in a shimmery gown to match her golden tresses.  Terence Howard, for redefining dapper.  And rapper Ludacris, for looking so spiffed up we almost didn’t recognize him.

The awards for Worst Dressed (i.e.: the You Should’ve Fired Your Stylist Yesterday awards) go to:

Nelly Furtado, in a layered, beaded, random patchwork of a dress.  Mandy Moore, for dressing in thrift store finds that weren’t even stylish on their first owner.  And Imogene Heap, because she may have achieved her mission of getting her name in the papers, but landing there for looking like a psychedelic Mary Poppins isn’t a good thing.

The awards for Worst Hair (or the Seriously, You Didn’t Know You Were Going To Be On National Television When You Left Your House Looking Like That? awards) go to:

Christina Aguilera, because we feel sorry for the scalp under that overly hairsprayed tangle of bleached blond hair that the tiny diva was sporting.  Paula Abdul, who gave herself a home face lift by pulling her hair back so tight.  And Hilary Duff, whose frizzy mop of hair managed to make Shakira’s wild ‘do look tidy by comparison.

Lastly, the award for Best Performance by a Girdle in a Supporting Role goes to….Jennifer Hudson’s undergarments.  The Dreamgirls actress and singer managed to look slim, trim, and bulge-free thanks to some miraculous work on the part of whatever was going on under her fitted red dress.

And that, folks, is what the Grammy’s are all about…looking good and sounding great, and oh, yeah…winning some trophies or something.
