The former ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress surprised her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. by taking his surname to mark the couple’s five-year wedding anniversary in September.
A source close to the actress said: “She officially changed her name to Sarah Michelle Prinze in honour of the occasion.
“On their September 1 anniversary, she showed Freddie her new driver’s license after they had had a romantic dinner together. It was so sweet!”
The couple met while filming the thriller ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ in 1997 and married in Mexico five years later.
Sarah, 30, recently ruled out settling down and having children in the near future, saying she is “too selfish” to become a mother.
She said: “You can’t be selfish and have a child. Right now I want to live my life and have fun. I want to go sit in my Jacuzzi and drink wine all night.
“I love to go wild in New York and go dancing until five in the morning!”
