I just read an article on Entertainment Weekly about the season finale of cycle 9 of America’s Next Top Model. I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone else had the same opinion of the finale, and the season for that matter. Week after week they sent home the models with the better pictures, to be honest this season they didn’t take enough pictures (how many commercials did they film?). I think the show has become so focused on commercialism (covergirl, seventeen) that it’s starting to miss the edge it once had. Two “girls next door” made it to the finale of cycle 9, the two girls with the personalities that made me want to stick rocks in my ears every Wednesday, I mean one can only take some much of the frolicking, happiness Chantal , and Saleisha exuded. Remember when the show looked for the unique, quirky, “something’s kinda off" girls? Worst of all in the process of the show becoming America’s Next Top Happy Happy Joy Joy Personality it managed to portray one girl as a morose, personality-less nobody who took the most awesome pictures.
And yes Jenah you are right you don't have to "Spew Rainbows" to be a role model!
