Brad Pitt Does Right in New Orleans

It’s really great to see celebrities doing some good on this earth. Take notice, Paris Hilton – who at most has covered herself in gold paint to sell champagne in a can – you could be doing more with your riches.

Brad Pitt, no doubt taking save-the-world lessons from wife Angelina Jolie, is on a mission to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina’s destruction (over two years ago, mind you). He’s even put his career on hold to help out. Now that’s dedication.

Pitt is not only giving his time, but also his money – pledging more than $5 million to rebuild 150 homes in the Lower 9th Ward. His Make It Right project plans to have construction of its first affordable and environmentally-friendly house by the summer.

Pitt said of the project, "It's going to take a long time to address the issues here, but this is a viable, viable start.”

  • I must confess that I am impressed with him. this is much more meaningful than a lot of other celeb charity work. god knows new orleans needs the help.

  • Yeah it's all good whathe is doing...but ask all of the Hollywood Celebs that have more than their share of money to donate 5 million each instead of asking the working stiff who is barely getting by.

Instead of partying all the time and spending 500 bucks just for dinner, they should be giving back to the people who have supported their careers.

  • celebs should give back to the people who buy their movie tickets? that's just silly.

  • I have to give heartfelt thanks and prayers for Springfield's number one son. Brad's dedication to his ideals and his fellow man are a real sign of heart and faith. I too was in a flood this summer in southeast, Kansas, and lost everything I own. I am still trying to put my life back together but have likewise turned to helping those others in need there in rebuilding their homes and lives. It's been a long, hard and sometimes lonely road but it still has all been worth it to see hope in another person's eyes come again when you reach out that hand to help when you have been devastated and don't know where help will ever come again. I may not have much but I have two hands to help and a heart to share my love for another human being. It costs me very little to offer love and hope and hopefully my help in reconstructing homes in Coffeyville, Kansas, will bring some of us back together in peace and love and restore our faith in mankind and our place in GOD'S family as true brothers and sister's. God Bless Brad, I will keep him in my heart and prayers forever.
