See More... Fantasia has been appearing in Color Purple on Broadway seven months ago. The Broadway play is produced by Oprah and the American Idol winner has missed an unheard of 50 performances so far.

Producer of the show have had to give back tens of thousands of dollars as refund due to Fantasia’s absence.

Sources say Fantasia’s out a lot because “she’s simply not up to the grueling Broadway schedule.”

Broadway shows run eight times a week.

Fantasia’s absences costing the show a lot of money and extremely unprofessional, but she’s disappointed thousands of fans. There are church groups and tourists who travel in mass via bus from as far away as Alabama to see the show.

  • U people need to stop saying people are ghetto, yall are only saying she's ghetto because she's black!!! And people who do braodway performances like this, DO IT ALL THE TIME! maybe not miss 50 performances, but they do miss alot, and your only hearing about it because it's Fantasia! And yes they do have Underscores to take her place when she's absent, and if u think about 50 really aint even alot figuring they do 8 shows a week, she missed 50 performances out of 340! Big Wow!! Stop hatin!! She has a beautiful voice very original & unique! If she was Carrie Underwood would you be saying she's ghetto??? NO!!

  • Before we do the name calling thing, we should know the whole story and there are two sides to every story. We don't know the stress and hoopla of this new found life Fantasia is now living.......I am sure she has reasons for her absenteez......let's just give the girl a chance. She is young and very talented and the girl made it so lets just give her some love and support. Try understanding if you were in her shoes.

  • It's really to bad to judge some one on their punctuality. If punctuality was a crime, I'm sure that we all would have spent time in the county jail, or some state Pentitary. So what she missed fifty show's. She's not the first and not going to be the last. She doe's have a small child to attend, and she is human enough to beome ill. What happens to your voice when your shouting @ a sporting event?.....
