See More... In spite of the on going writers’ strike Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien will start filming new episodes of their late night talk shows January 2, 2008.

With no further talks scheduled in the seven-week-old dispute, Leno said he felt it was up to him to get his 100 non-writing staff members back to work.

Now I understand that the writers are going to be upset at this move, but you have to understand that the impact of this strike affects a lot of non-union non-writing employees. I support the writers’ right to strike and seek what they feel is fair compensation for their work, but i also believe it is the obligation of the networks to make sure their employees are able to support themselves and their families. Hopefully they will come to an agreement sooner rather than later and settle the strike before shows start taping.
