John Travolta Dumped From “Dallas”

I Like It I Don't Like It
John Travolta has been dropped from the "Dallas" movie after being promoted as the project’s anchor for more than two years.  Travolta, who was just nominated for a Golden Globe for  his role in "Hairspray," was let go about two weeks ago.  He had the role of J.R. Ewing taken from him and given to Ben Stiller.  However, a rep for Stiller denies the comic actor accepted or was offered the part.

Are they going to turn "Dallas" into a comedy?  Did they dump Travolta because he insisted that fellow Scientology Freak Tom Cruise get the role of  "Bobby?"  A remake of  "Dallas," how pathetic -  a medium is  past its prime when it becomes self-referential.  Anyway, there can never be another J.R. Ewing - Larry Hagman can not be equaled in the role.
