In a statement to US, the rep for the 23-year-old star of the Broadway version of The Color Purple categorically denied the rumors as "entirely untrue." Furthermore, a rep for the show offered up an explanation for Fantasia's sporadic absences from the stage production, absences which seemed to spark the speculation in the first place.
