This news comes only a week after a number of stars set to attend the ceremony pulled out, citing the writer’s strike and the subsequent picket line surrounding the red carpet as the reason behind the boycott. Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl and Atonement actor James McAvoy were just two of the big name celebs who had refused to attend.
While CBS (the network who would have televised the red carpet and awards ceremony) is still trying to salvage some kind of show from the awards on January 8th, Extra says there will definitely be no press allowed, and no red carpet.
This story is just developing, and there will be more news as it comes.
