She also apologized herself in a statement last Friday, saying she was "embarrassed over the situation and regret(s) having ever taken these photos."
Now People Magazine reports that Hudgens has a history of emailing her provocative photos, having once sent them to Nickelodeon’s Drake Bell. Jill Fritzo, Bell’s representative, apparently denies that her client had ever received the photos. (Side note: If he did receive them…well…not much more you can say for Drake other than, “Nice dude. Seriously. Nice.”)
Of note in the controversy is that Disney is currently in negotiations with the cast of High School Musical for a third installment in the movie series. The company released a statement saying, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."
In the school of negotiation theory, one might say that Disney has quite the upper hand in the contract talks now that one of its biggest stars is making up lots of ground on other controversial Hollywood ladies like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Nicole Richie.
But Hudgens shouldn’t worry for the state of her career. So what if High School Musical might become a thing of the past? Remember, there’s always reality TV!
