Awww, this is so sweet.  Angelina is talking to her father Jon Voight again after five years!  While you check out Gossip Boulevard's assessement, join us in wondering - did  2007's other FOTY Michael Lohan give him  parenting advice?

Angelina Jolie reportedly ended her five-year rift with her actor father Jon Voight over the Christmas period. Angelina cut her father out of her life after Jon told a television show in June 2002 that he hoped his daughter sought help for her “serious emotional problems”. The actor had attempted to patch things up with his daughter, saying just last month: “I’m very impressed with Angelina’s work, with some of the humanitarian things, and she’s a great actress. I am always thinking of Brad and the kids. I’m sending my love that way.”The actress is said to have finally broken their silence on Christmas Day by reaching out to Jon with a telephone call, while spending Christmas in New Orleans with partner Brad Pitt and their four children. “It was a short call, but it meant the world to both of them,” revealed an insider. “It was something for them to build on, and Jon couldn’t say enough good things about the way his daughter is conducting her life.”

  • That's great. If something happened to him, and they hadn't spoken for years, it would be difficult for her to handle. Though parents and children do things to irritate each other, there should never be total separation between them.
