Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera have became mothers within hours of each other after giving birth in the same LA hospital."Ecstatic" Nicole, 27, and her rock-star boyfriend Joel Madden are now the proud parents of a baby girl - Harlow Winter Kate Madden - who was born just before Christina had a little boy.
Max Liron Bratman is the first child of Christina and husband Jordan Bratman and weighed 6lbs 2oz tot arrived on Saturday night and his mum is said to be coping brilliantly.
"He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy!" Said the couple's spokesman Both tiny bundles of joy were born at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre on Friday.
Speaking just after the birth Good Charlotte frontman Madden said: "We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful and so good already. We are very happy."
A spokesperson for the couple also confirmed the birth, saying "the beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents".
Richie's adoptive father, singer Lionel Richie and sister, Sophie, were reportedly seen visiting the hospital before the birth, as was Madden's Good Charlotte bandmate and brother Benji.
Harlow is the first child for the couple who plan to marry later in the year. 26-year-old Richie suffered a slide into drugs and driving related offences last year, which saw her spend a short time in prison.
She recently revealed her baby had saved her life. "I owe this baby everything and I have a responsibility now," she said.
"Besides being responsible for myself, I'm now responsible for someone else.
"And I have to set the right examples. I have to really be someone that I would want my child to look up to."
However, she admitted she could not believe she was pregnant at first.
She told Access Hollywood: "I didn't believe it. I was in shock. I took about 5 different tests!" "It's just amazing. I'm so excited," Richie's friend, Lauren Conrad, of US TV show The Hills.
"I want to see the baby! I bet it's beautiful." Though Simple Life star Richie has said they initially couldn't agree on a name, they settled on Harlow - the last name of famous 1930s screen siren Jean Harlow.
"There's a huge trend, especially among young Hollywood, to honor Classic Hollywood with names," said Pam Satran, co-author of The Baby Name Bible.
"Harlow is the coolest glamour girl name."
She also cited actress Reese Withersoon and Ryan Phillippe and Jason Priestley and Naomi Lowde naming their daughters Ava (Ava Gardner); actor Greg Kinnear and wife Helen Labdon naming their daughter Audrey (Audrey Hepburn) and Weeds' comedian Kevin Nealon and wife Susan Yeagley naming their son Gable (Clark Gable).Daily Mail
