Last night, the National Board of Review held their awards ceremony, honoring greatness in Hollywood productions. And the A-list of celebrities in attendance was a welcome change from the recent writers’ strike drought.
Stars like , Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ben Affleck, Ellen Page, and Kate Winslet checked out the festivities, as they accepted their awards (the NBR announces the winners pre-awards show).
Jennifer Garner presented the Breakthrough Performance award to her Juno costar Ellen Page, stating, “The person who is getting this award in the last month or so has become the most powerful woman in Hollywood.”
Meanwhile, George Clooney picked up the award for Best Actor, accompanied by his girlfriend Sarah Larson. He also presented the Coen brothers with the Best Adapted Screenplay award joking, “This is gonna be the most fun for all of us tonight because these guys hate this.”
And Ben Affleck’s little brother (and new father) Casey won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. He told press, “I’m a little bit humbled by it all. The National Board of Review is a very prestigious organization.”
