Nicole Kidman Is NOT An Enthusiastic Parent

Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise, and baby Suri aren’t the only subjects of speculation in Andrew Morton’s new controversial Tom Cruise biography. Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography reveals sad details of Nicole Kidman’s allegedly difficult and emotionally absent role in the lives of her children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 12, according to a report in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph.

In November, Nicole told UK TV show, GMTV, “My kids don’t call me mommy, they don’t even call me mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it.”

Morton reveals, “Those who saw the family close up concluded that Tom was much more comfortable and enthusiastic as a parent. The actor was in constant — and controlling — touch with the youngsters and their nannies no matter how busy he was.”

Additionally, he claims that Nicole would rarely call to check on her children when she was away. When filming or visiting family in Sydney, Morton states, “it could be days before she would phone to see how Isabella and Connor were coping.”

The book also reveals that Tom and Nicole were both attached when they began their relationship. She was allegedly still in a relationship with Aussie actor Marcus Graham and Cruise had recently separated from his wife, Mimi Rogers.

Luckily for Isabella and Connor, they seem to be hitting it off with Tom’s new wife, Katie Holmes. In December, Katie told Parade magazine that Tom’s children with Nicole are, “incredible, really smart, and kind. They call me ‘Mom.’”

Earlier this month, Nicole announced that she’s pregnant with current hubby Keith Urban’s baby. Hopefully, for the new baby, it’s better the second time around.
