Denzel Washington says he tells kids to overcome hatred

In a Monday morning appearance on The Early Show to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, actor Denzel Washington said he's taught his four children -- John David, 23, Katia, 20, Olivia and Malcolm, both 16 -- that "there are going to be obstacles" in life. Denzel adds,

Someone may not like you just because they don't like themselves. But don't you get bogged down. Don't be a hater. Don't let hatred destroy you. Overcome it, move on, educate them, if you will.
