Who knew that celebrity hearthrob Morris Chestnut was married? Well he is and has been for 11 years. In addition,Morris Chestnut has two children:a daughter,9,and a son,10. In a recent December 2007 interview with Essence.com,Morris talks about his married life,divorce,and his kids.

Essence.com: So[staying at home] is that the secret to ensuring your privacy?

M.C.: Most definitely. To be quite honest, a lot of celebrities want their home life and what they do off-set to be public because people strongly believe that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, in other words, any publicity is good publicity. I always wanted my personal life to be private and my work life to be public.

Essence.com: You have a daughter, 9, and son, 10. Have either of them been bitten by the acting bug?

M.C.: My daughter is expressing interest but she’s too young. This industry is tough for adults to deal with, let alone children, so she’s gonna have to wait until she’s done with high school before I would really let her pursue.

Essence.com: What’s the wildest rumor you’ve heard about yourself, and how did you confront it?

M.C.: I heard I was getting divorce. People were calling me from all across the country telling me about it. A local radio DJ said it and I called into that station and just set the record straight.Essence.com: How did the missus take it?

M.C.: (Laugh) She didn’t really care for it too much. I tried to explain to her that you can’t really confirm or deny every single rumor, but I definitely spoke out on that one.

  • HE SURE BEHAVES SINGLE IN HIS MOVIES. I THOUGHT HE WAS SINGLE. I JUST WATCHED THAT OLD FLICK "THE BROTHERS'" IT'S STILL FUNNY AND HE WAS MARRIED THEN, HMMM. WELL COOL! THEY LOOK GOOD TOGETHER.

  • morris visit my city once and hes one stuck up brother that totaly forgot where he came from.i use to like him until he came to a celebrity softball game in my city.if hes married why doesnt he want anyone to know so he can contiue to cheat

  • I have been a huge fan of morris chestnut since he stared in the movie boyz in the hood. He's a fantastic creative, stunnig actor, his wife is very beautiful which she should be honoured to have a hunk like morris chestnut.because hes a fablous, I'v always wanted to meet morris chestnut. Even though he seems so far away.Because i live in London, and morris lives in American,I hope my wish comes true one day.number 1 fan Toyah 22yrs old

  • i dont know if the brother cheats or not, but regardless, if his wife is happy,who else matters. honestly i wish i was her myself. that is a beautiful, sexy, deep voice chocolate brother that i love to just sit and watch on screen from boyz in the hood to game plan. i hope they are as happy as they look and look together.

  • I don't think he's cheating but I think he needs to grow up and and get out of his high school ways and realize that he's grown man. He has a girl and boy and a wife...isn't it about time for maturity and reality to kich in????

  • hmmm i think morris is an inspirations,i liked him since from the very first day i saw his movie''THE BEST MAN'' i loved that movie and i watched it four times a week along with''TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME'' am 18th and i wanna be like him... I LOVE YOU

  • I've always adored Morris Chestnut, and yes it's too bad he's taken,
    and, like most I didn't know either, however, I do hope that he's not a stuck up brotha, although we all do have our good and bad days
