I’ll tell you why I’m definitely going to see Fool’s Gold this weekend: Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey make the perfect on-screen couple. Why? They are both irresistible—and entirely imperfect.
I’ve given some serious thought to this: Some actors get so much adulation for so little talent when other, more talented actors are written off by fans for their personal idiosyncrasies, off-screen romantic shenanigans, or unfortunate sartorial decisions. (The latter, naturally, isn’t an entirely unreasonable offense for which to write someone off.)
Just admit it—we want our celebrity idols to be fabulous, but not so fabulous that idolizing them is an exercise in futility…not so fabulous that even at the right place and time, we would still never have a shadow of a chance of knowing them through six degrees…or six million. Why would I want to watch an actress who, were I actually in her presence, would render me obsolete? (Hello Angelina Jolie!)
Kate Hudson isn’t a bombshell—she’s a chiller. She doesn’t pout, she giggles. Matthew McConaughey, while devastatingly sexy, has a southern twang given to ridiculous malapropisms. Clearly he’s not bred perfectly (and doesn’t shower regularly), and it makes him personable.
Kate and Matthew are why I’m definitely going to see Fool’s Gold this weekend.
(That and I’m not completely opposed to box office candy binges.)

Do you agree with Jennifer Aniston speaking out on Angelina Jolie, saying what happened was "uncool"?
