Another American Idol results show, another four contenders get the boot.
Ryan Seacrest, the master of suspense, kicks things off with the first guys’ elimination. As he runs down the first row of contestants, when he gets to Nick, he dismisses him immediately. No drama, nothing… just told he was going home.
Next up, the first girls’ elimination. And yet again, Ryan employs the quick and dirty axe when he gets to Alaina. She takes to the stage to sing “Not Ready to Make Nice,” but emotions take over and the words aren’t coming. The backup singers fill the void and the remaining female contestants join her on stage in a group hug.
And then Kellie Pickler made an appearance, coifed in a much older woman’s hairdo. She made a silly (and tired, we might add) comment about sushi, and sang her country thang.
Then Ryan has AJ and Sanjaya come down on stage. And it's AJ. People around the country are shouting and throwing things at their TVs. The judges comment about how America didn’t vote correctly.
And now what we’ve been waiting for – Ryan brings Antonella, Leslie and Jordin to the stage. Will Antonella get kicked to the curb because of her R-rated photos? Nope. She’s safe (afterall, sex sells, right?). Ryan announces that Leslie will be leaving.
Finally, a lot of tears were shed during this episode. The night’s biggest cry-baby award goes to Sundance, who the camera kept cutting to as he wiped away buckets of the salty stuff.
