RollingStone.com has a flipbook that takes a look at other elements of music and pop culture that played a part in the creation of Panic at the Disco's Pretty. Odd. Among them are Bob Dylan, Alice in Wonderland, Irish folk music, renaissance faires and Federico Fellini. OK, and they include the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's album, but that warrants a big fat "thank you, captain obvious!" at this point.

On that note, I think I finally found one thing I liked better about A Fever You Can't Sweat Out — the Chuck Palahniuk references. I understood them.

I see the point that Panic might open fans up to new interests (I know a lot of fans got turned on to Palahniuk because of Fever's littering of references), I just don't see myself deliving into Irish folk music or attending renaissance faires anytime soon. Or watching "A Clockwork Orange," for that matter — I despise that movie.
