I Like It I Don't Like It
See More... Chikezie was the latest sent home on American Idol Wednesday night, leaving nine remaining on the show. (See his baby photo here.)

After the 22-year-old performed the Luther Vandross ballad “If Only for One Night," judge Simon Cowell dissed, “You chose the wrong song last night…it wasn't original."

Judge Randy Jackson called his performance "very old school. It wasn't hip and cool."

Keeping Chikezie company in the bottom three last night? Syesha Mercado, who sang Stephanie Mills’ "If I Were Your Woman," and Jason Castro, who performed Sting’s "Fragile."

In other Idol news: Contestant Carly Smithson used last night’s show to address Internet rumors that she is expecting.

"Apparently I'm pregnant — but I'm not!" she told Ryan Seacrest.

Last night's show also featured a performance by Idol alum Kimberley Locke, who was recently chosen as one of Us Weekly’s Weight Winners of the Year.

  • I still can hear Chikezie's voice singing on American Idol. He should have never been sent home. Chikezie, you can see ANY mode of music and you have all the right moves in front of the camera. Please return next year so that you can be truly America's Idol in 2009!!
