See More... Charlton Heston, the actor who portrayed "Moses" in the film classic "The Ten Commandments" died April 5th (yesterday). Heston's real name was John Charles Carter and he was born in Evaston, Illinois.

Heston who was 83, attended Northwestern University on a Drama Scholarship and served two years in the United States Army Air Forces. He was not only a Gifted, Actor but also a Civil Right Activist  being one of the FEW, A-List Actors of his time, who publicly spoke out against Racism in Hollywood. He was President of the National Rifle Association from 1998 to 2003.

He is survived by his Wife of 64 years, a Son and a Daughter.

Additional Filmography includes: The Greatest Show on Earth, Ben Hur, El Cid, The Awakening, Planet of the Apes and more than 100 other Movies in which he starred or acted in.

My mom still watches "Ten Commandments" each year right before Easter Sunday.
