I Like It I Don't Like It

Pageantry and springtime really do go hand in hand, don't they? In case you missed it, a new Miss USA has been crowned and let me tell you, her win was no small feat. Dotspotter star blogger, drift82 has the news...

Crystle Stewart is the new Miss USA.

The 26-year-old Miss Texas conquered 50 other aspiring beauty queens in the pageant televised live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Almost immediately, the contestants were narrowed down from 50 to 15. The finalists included Miss Missouri - and sister of Chace Crawford - Candice Crawford. But even her sibling’s star power was not enough to deny Stewart from her destiny.

At the end of the night, Crystle overcame runner-up Leah Laviano and second runner-up Tiffany Andrade to succeed Rachel Smith as Miss USA.

“I want to talk to people about how to set a goal and achieve it,” she told The Associated Press after the show. “Because I just achieved my goal.”

  • Crystle Stewart, the new Miss USA, brought a stadard to the pageant that has been absent for years. She's tall, elegant, beautiful, intelligent, confident, well-spoken. I can go on. Many of the top 15 and 10 were so beautiful, but I wasn't entirely pleased with the top 5. Missouri should have been there. And didn't the judges notice Tennessee and Indiana. Oklahoma was hot and placed lower than she deserved. Anyway, we have a geat representative who should do as proud at Miss Univerese, where the world will be watching.
