Fergie Claims She Gets Her "Fire" From Her Latin Ancestry

The Black Eyed Peas singer believes she inherited the passionate side of her character from her Mexican grandmother.

She said: "Yes, I have Mexican in my ancestry. My Dad's grandmother was born in Guanajuato. I'm very proud of it - that's probably where I get my fire!"

"I love going to Mexico. Cabo San Lucas is my spot. I love to hang out by the pool, go fishing, shop for furniture, and I've taken painting classes over there. It's beautiful."

However, the 33-year-old singer admits she doesn't like to put too much emphasizes on her Latin roots.

She added to Latina magazine: "I don't go around claiming it big time because there are many more full-bred Latinas that are out there to represent."
