We all love celebrity gossip and keeping up with what Paris, Lindsay, and Britney are up to. But when some superfans take it too far, things get scary. Every major and minor star seems to have had a stalker, but some are more persistent than others.

Everyone's favorite 80s teen queen, Debbie Gibson (excuse us, Deborah) just got a scare of her own. Her stalker showed up at her front door last week, prompting Deborah to call the police and file a restraining order. Super creepy given the fact that a previous stalker of hers ended up shooting and killing another actress he was obsessed with.

Britney may seem to court the spotlight, but she definitely didn't ask for her stalker to try to break into her homes in Los Angeles and Louisiana. The overzealous fan ended up being deported back to his native Japan last year.

When Catherine Zeta-Jones received death threats from her stalker (who was jealous of her marriage to hubby Michael Douglas), the actress almost had a nervous breakdown she was so frightened. And Mel Gibson didn't just avoid his stalker - he got even, pressing charges and sending the creep to jail for three years.

What do you think of the celebrity stalker problem? Is it just the price of fame or is it avoidable?
