See More... One of the hottest female athletes on the planet, Maria Sharapova was spotted out for a scheduled appearance on the Late Show in New York City on Monday (April 21).

During her visit, the Russian born tennis star hit a makeshift court outside of the Ed Sullivan Theatre with show host David Letterman to show off her on-court skills.

As for her career, Sharapova, who celebrated her 21st birthday on Saturday, has moved up a place to third in the Women Tennis Association rating published earlier today.

Reports tell that “the former World No. 1 improved her ranking by reaching last week’s quarterfinals in the $1.34-million tennis tournament in Charleston, U.S., and eased her compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova down to fourth position.”
