The Richie Sambora Saga is Over

I Like It I Don't Like It
After all of this, Richie Sambora pleaded out his DUI earlier this week.  Mere hours after the drunk driving charges were officially filed, he plead no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.  The prosecutors dropped a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.  He was never charged with child endangerment.

Richie was sentenced to three years of informal probation, three months of first-offender alcohol awareness class and court fees. He also cannot have any measurable amount of drugs or alcohol in his system while driving during his probation.

Richie did not attend the hearing and his attorney entered the plea on his behalf.  I've never seen anyone else besides celebrities allowed to plea guilty through their attorney.  Normally defendants are questioned to make sure they are pleading guilty of their own accord.
