Miley Cyrus Criticized for Pose With Father.

"He's got to be incredibly grateful but angry about her success," he continued. "Here's a guy who had one hit. And then the cat disappeared. I don't think he had much going on. Then he has this kid and turns her into a showbiz kid. So then the kid goes into show business and becomes a megastar and he's like oh F---. He's sort of the guy who hangs on."

"That daughter of his is the only thing between him and going on 'The Surreal Life," chimed in Stern sidekick Artie Lange.

Stern imagined what was going on in Billy Ray's head. "She's my Frankenstein and I'm entitled so some of her scratch and lifestyle," he said.

Criticism of the photo hardly stopped there. "I think it's just flat-out weird," Ruth Peters, a clinical psychologist and contributor to Today said. "It's very inappropriate. You can't play it both ways. You can't be daddy's little girl like a five, six or seven-year-old and be cuddled up in daddy's arms and then come on half-naked with a sheet across you. You have to go one way or another in the message you are trying to send."

"I think we need to look at the fact that these were taken with the intention of being artistic. I think they were trying to create something beautiful with a famous photographer." Joanna Saltz, an editor of Seventeen says.

Joy Behar has similar thoughts she expressed on Monday's 'View.' "The one with her father is kind of weird. I can just picture my father and me sitting like that," she joked.

There also continues to be backlash at the adults who let the shoot of Cyrus to go so far. "Of course she is embarrassed," Jamie Lee Curtis writes on The Huffington Post.

"She is a young girl. She shouldn't have to deal with any of this," continues Curtis. "I don't feel that she was duped. I know the integrity of Ms. Leibovitz and the magazine and I know there were people present at the shoot that should have been looking out to make sure that this didn't happen."

i will never be able to look at her the same way again, with out knowing that shes gonna be just like everyone else. so dissapointing. although we hoped she wouldn't we all knew that she would one day and now its happened.

No one knows the intention of these photos. No one can predict the future, therefore, no one can say Miley will turn out like Britney. Britney is someone who has made mistakes, but is still loved by many, and is trying to get her act together and get past mistakes. Miley will get past this one (who's to say this was a mistake anyway besides Miley herself?) Bottom line: WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND MAKE MISTAKES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL THE DAY WE DIE. Who cares!

Yes, the photo of Miley with her father shows extremely poor parental judgment as he surely looks like the older predator and she the seduced/seductress which is highly distasteful in this context ! Especially poor timing with that awful father/daughter crime in Austria ! What was her father in particular thinking? Then go ahead and be a young nubile thing in a little sheet, my little Lolita? Is that what happened? One hopes all that glitters will not make her fall too...with her Dad at the helm..one worries.

I dont understand why ppl are saying this photo is more than in a platonic way. c'mon ppl this is her father.All girls feel comfortable around their dads.I think ppl are saying that because to me we all know billy is cute but he is not touching her like a lover. she is just in front of him and he is looking to the side. i absolutly love the picture.........+++++JIN++++++------

Wow guys chill. It probably wasn't even their idea. The photogographer probably told them to pose like that so he could get a good looking, proffessional shot. And either way, it's not THAT horrible. It's not like they're doing anything all that bad.

This shot with her across her father's lap is not bad in anyway. As a photographer for a very popular nation wide company, this is one pose we do a heck of a lot of. I support this pose in every which way!

okay, i dont think this is all that bad but some gross minded people will think different so i would say not to take any mosr pictures like that. i am not mad about these photos but i am VERY MAD at you miley for those other pics. you were supost to be my roe model but i guss not.
