Ellen Page who was nominated for an Oscar for Juno has reportedly been cast for the lead role in the BBC film of Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre. Apparently, this has caused outrage by a number of UK film industry execs who think the role should have gone to a British actress. A source told The Express:
"No one is doubting Ellen Page's acting abilities but why a BBC movie of Jane Eyre couldn't have a British actress as the lead is pretty hard to stomach."

The Canadian actress isn't the only one who has caused controversy in this way though. Last year, many were angered when Anne Hathaway was cast as the role of author Jane Austen in the movie Becoming Jane.

Yes, maybe the role should've gone to a British actress, but I'm sure Ellen can pull it off. She's an incredible actress!
