Thursday are doing some quick calendar-shuffling:
Geoff Rickly and the gang are replacing
Good Charlotte on this weekend's Groezrock Festival in Belgium.
It's not yet known why
Good Charlotte dropped off the fest's bill. Thursday, who are currently seeking a new record label, will be rubbing shoulders with
Alkaline Trio,
Bad Religion,
Anti-Flag,
Hot Water Music,
The Loved Ones and more at the event, which is happening Saturday in Meerhout, Belgium.
After that, Thursday will do some more globe-trotting, playing Makati in the Philippines on May 30 and the Kaogma Festival in the country's Camarines Sur province the following day. The band will actually be the first foreign act to ever play the shindig.
"We are currently packing our bags for a last-minute trip to Belgium, replacing Good Charlotte on this year's amazing Groezrock Festival (where we get to play alongside some of our favorite bands), as well as a tour of the Philippines!" Thursday said in a statement. "It's an honor and a pleasure to be asked to perform at Groezrock, as well as be the first American band asked to play the Kagoma Festival. We've received so many letters from listeners in Manila, Quezon and other areas for many years. To all of you, we can't wait to finally meet you!!!! Our friend Manny will be coming with us to lend a little fill-in bass-guitar action."
Thursday fans won't want to miss Buzznet's recent exclusive interview with Rickly, in which he chats about his
United Nations side project with members of
Converge and
Glassjaw; Thursday's new split-EP with Japanese band
Envy; and past grievances with former labels Victory and Island. Click on the picture below to check out the video chat:
