When Teairra Mari first hit the scene a few years ago as the Princess of the Roc, I remember thinking her music was too grown for her demographic. She was fifteen singing about a nicca making her feel good and having “No Daddy”. Back then Jay used to say that he had signed Teairra because of her “swagger” and although Def Jam had signed two other acts (Ne-Yo and Rihanna), you could definitely tell his focus was on making Teairra Mari the star. Some how the tables turned and both Ne-Yo and Rihanna went on to sell platinum albums while Teairra Mari eventually got dropped. Now she’s back, under a new label and ready to tell her side of the story. Blogger B Scott sat down with Teairra Mari recently and she talked about her feelings towards Jay-z, Rihanna’s success and being dropped from Def Jam. Check out the video under the hood
