People has a piece up about Alanis Morrisette and how she's coming out of a rough period. In February 2007, Morrisette and Reynolds broke off their engagement. Barely a year and a half later, Reynolds is now engaged to Johansson. Morrisette told People that she hit "rock bottom" due to "a personal unraveling of significant relationships in my life." Ouch.
However, the dark times gave her plenty of material for her new album, Flavors of Entanglement, which is due out June 10.
Honestly, I'm a little nervous about this. I like Alanis just fine, but "You Oughta Know" is one of my least favorite songs ever and she wrote that after she split with freakin' Dave Coulier. If Uncle Joey can inspire such crappy music, I fear what Ryan Reynolds can do.
