As much as I say that people watch too much reality TV and get caught up in celebrities‘ lives, I will make a confession that only 2 or 3 people in my life know…I watch reality TV shows and yes, I sometimes get vested into the lives of these people whose lives are full of drama. There, I said it!
Drama is something I stay away from in my life. In fact, I’ll probably be the most laid-back, non-diva person you’ll meet. However, I sometimes take pleasure in getting a glimpse into other people’s drama-filled lives. Watching these shows is a gentle reminder that people we think “have it all” actually really don’t.
I often take a peek here at StyleIT to read Sarah’s funny antics about The Hills or America’s Next Top Model. As for me, well, I sometimes live vicariously through The Girls Next Door…Who wouldn’t want to have a hot body and party all the time? Then I weep for the girls who get booted off The Bachelor knowing full well most of them go on the show just to get on TV and become an “actress”. However, the two shows that I really got into - even so far as watching reruns - are Keeping Up With the Kardashians (I, like, can’t believe, like, those girls like saying “like” all the time…like) and Real Housewives of Orange County/New York City.
I’m still trying to figure out why I like these shows. Do you know why you watch certain shows?
