The Vote For The Worst Web site says that Luke, 29, who went out of the competion in early March, has learned he is suffering from stage two of the disease.
The site says that the announcement was made in a Myspace bulletin by a musician friend of the singer known as Chinua Hawk.
Luke Menard or anyone connected to American Idol has confirmed this.
