Buzznet caught up with Sorum at the star-studded show his other band, Camp Freddy, put on last week at The Roxy Theatre on West Hollywood, California's Sunset Strip. The gig was part of a Thursday night residency the cover band has been staging with the likes of guest stars such as Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Slash and others.
But Slash and Sorum's main musical focus isn't Camp Freddy, of course: It's Velvet Revolver, who wrapped up a tour in early April. Is it within the realm of possibility that we'd ever see the two of them onstage again with one of the current members of GN'R? One by the name of Axl?
"It’s funny you say that," Sorum stated. "People have mentioned that. Dave Navarro said something to me really funny the other day. He said, 'Matt I know this really great singer, man, it'd be perfect for you guys' ... and we're all like, 'Yeah,' and he goes, 'Axl,' and I'm just like, 'that pretty funny.' Whatever. I'm just the drummer man, I don't know. I'm just hanging out ... having fun," Sorum explained.

Would Axl have any time to devote to Velvet Revolver? We're still waiting for him to release the news Guns N' Roses record, Chinese Democracy, due out ... um, yeah.
